Clinical Training and Development Manager - i2i Network

The Clinical Training and Development Manager is an exciting new role for an experienced pharmacist to work as a pivotal member of the Soar Beyond team based out of our Head Office in Hemel Hempstead. In this role, you will be responsible to the i2i Network Director and support the design, delivery and evaluation of the i2i clinical training for GP Practice Pharmacists. This is an innovative new programme launched in early 2017 which already has 500+ practice pharmacist members and will have  already trained in excess of 300 practice pharmacists by the end of 2017. The programme comprises training workshops and is supported by a members-only online web-platform of implementation resources such as clinical searches, consultation templates and other valuable resources to enable practice pharmacists to review their LTC patients as an integral part of the MDT. The role

As Clinical Training & Development Manager, you will provide clinical oversight and project manage the clinical elements of the i2i programme delivery which comprises: 

Programme design and development

    • agenda design, building and engaging with the expert faculty
    • writing, development and updating of the suite of online clinical resources in line with required governance requirements


Programme delivery

    • recruitment and briefing of speakers and facilitators and liaison with NHS sites (CCGs/ Federation Lead Pharmacists).
    • training and facilitation skills to run i2i events and ensure high quality delivery


Project management of successful i2i programme delivery

    • using established project management methodology including managing internal and external team members and quality assurance
    • Client relationship management incl. liaison with sponsor companies such as checkpoint meetings and status updates as well as working with clients.
    • Innovating and identifying potential future support including supporting NHS sites to evaluate and capture the data and outputs of practice pharmacist or MDT implementation
    • Driving member engagement - identifying methods of supporting practice pharmacists to implement and succeed whilst promoting the outcomes and achievements of the i2i Network 


Core skills required

  • Hold registration with GPhC
  • Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience (ideally, but not essentially with two years general practice / CCG experience)
  • Portfolio of evidence of continuous professional development and post- qualifying experience relevant to the role
  • Experience of project management
  • Excellent communication, delegation and organisational skills
  • Clear, concise clinical writing and report writing skills
  • Training expertise and experience- particularly in the design and delivery (and ideally evaluation) of training programmes
  • Evidence of the application of innovative practice and the application of evidence based interventions
  • Extended clinical skills including clinical assessment
  • Leadership skills and team management
  • Be able to organise workload and work autonomously and within a team
  • Multi-disciplinary / multi agency working experience
  • IT skills and computer literacy
  • Have a sound understanding of the NHS agenda in delivering high quality, safe and effective care
  • Be committed to keeping up-to-date with developments on medicine use
  • Have a flexible working attitude, the ability to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines
  • Have a full driving licence and access to a car
